Thunder Bay Coalition Against Racial Discrimination (TBCard) Final Report
The Social Inclusion Project is the latest equity initiative of Diversity Thunder Bay.This project supports the City of Thunder Bay's (2007) signing on to Canada's Federal Coalition of Municipalities against Racism and Discrimination and declaring its support for the ten commitments. This Canadian initiative is part of the larger United Nations' (UN) Coalition for Municipalities against Racism and Discrimination.
In this community-based research initiative, the researcher, in collaboration with the Steering Committee, will use a variety of methods to engage community and gather and analyze information about how Thunder Bay is currently faring on the 10 Commitments. Community and organizational input will be used to produce a broad and inclusive community action plan to guide the city in moving forward on the 10 commitments.
The project's major funder is Ministry of Citizenship and Culture with additional funding from Ventures Thunder Bay, the City of Thunder Bay, and Diversity Thunder Bay. The LakeheadSocial Planning Council is administering the Project from May 2008 until March 31, 2009.
